Before you start
- Have your purchased 25-character product key ready. Keep it private.
- Connect your PC to the internet and sign in with an administrator account.
- Check your edition in Settings > System > About > Windows specifications. These instructions are for a Windows 11 Pro license.
- If Pro is already installed, you normally do not need to reinstall Windows just to enter your key.
Activate Windows 11 Pro
- Open Start > Settings, or press Windows + I.
- Select System > Activation.
- Next to Change product key, select Change. Approve the administrator prompt if shown.
- Enter the key from your order, select Next, and follow the activation prompts.
- Return to the Activation page and check that the activation state is Active.
Using Windows 11 Home? A valid Pro upgrade key can upgrade your edition through this same page. Follow the upgrade prompts and restart when requested. If your key is rejected, contact us before reinstalling.
Need to install Windows first?
Use Microsoft's official download page for the Installation Assistant, installation media, or an ISO. Choose the option for your device and follow Microsoft's instructions. Check Windows 11 system requirements before starting.
Back up important files first. A clean installation can erase files and applications; creating installation media can erase the USB drive. If you are unsure which option to use, ask for help before proceeding.
Select the Pro edition when asked, so the installation matches your license. Once setup is complete, connect to the internet and follow the activation steps above.
Something not working?
The key is not accepted
Check for typing mistakes and confirm the installed edition matches your license. Note the exact error code. Contact us with your order reference and a screenshot that hides the product key.
Windows is still not activated
Check your internet connection, restart your PC, and recheck Activation. If available, choose Troubleshoot on that page while signed in as an administrator. Microsoft's activation troubleshooter explains the next steps.
I changed my PC hardware
A significant hardware change can require reactivation. Eligibility depends on your license. Follow Microsoft's reactivation guide; do not assume every key can move to another PC.
